When multiple family members gather around or even just two members reconnect after an extended separation, one of the most popular activities is reminiscing: “remember that Christmas when we told crazy Uncle Frank we wanted a puppy and he showed up to dinner with a ceramic sheep he stole from the next-door-neighbors’ front yard nativity scene” or “what about when mom told us she was having another baby and Carol started screaming about how she was always supposed to be the ‘baby of the family'” or “the tears on Dad’s face and the way he looked at Mom when she came out of surgery.” Being together, retelling those stories, sharing those memories again and again is a warm gift we share in those moments but what about when someone can’t be there or has moved on to the next life and then a new generation comes along? Family portraits and photographs are such an absolutely vital and essential part of any family history that have the power to bring the magic back again and again as well as connect the future generations with those from the the past. Here is one such portrait “from that time my mother-in-law came all the way to Miami from Asunción on Christmas Day to visit her youngest son and daughter-in-law!” If you are interested in portraits of and for your family contact me for details!
